The library is typically open from 8AM until midnight, seven days a week. We usually offer extended hours the week before and during final exams, and we are closed on New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the Friday following Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.
The library contains plenty of spaces for studying, collaborating, and relaxing.
The first and second floors contain comfortable chairs and couches. These are not quiet floors, although we do hope you'll use your inside voice. You'll also find puzzles scattered around these floors. Please use them!
The basement level (also called the Lower Level and, confusingly, the Ground Floor) and the third floor are our quiet spaces. We do ask that you keep the noise down on those two floors.
Study and meeting rooms are available on the second and third floors. Some of the small study rooms are first come/first serve, but most of the rooms must be reserved in advance. You can use our online reservation system to make sure a room is ready when you need it.
You're welcome to bring food and drinks into the library. Just try not to make a mess! Most local delivery places, including Domino's and Jimmy John's, will serve the library; we won't page you when your food gets here, though, so you might want to wait for it in the lobby.
During fall and spring semester, the Miner Break cafe is open at the back of the first floor. They serve hot and cold beverages, snacks, sandwiches, and salads.
On the basement level, next to the map room, we provide vending machines with snacks, soda, and coffee and a microwave.
The second-floor CLC is usually the highest-traffic computer lab on campus. It contains 30 PCs, two black-and-white printers, and a color printer. We also have a smaller CLC on the first floor, containing seven PCs and a black-and-white printer. All of these computers are loaded with standard campus software.
Two PCs and two Macs are located on the second floor near the Telepresence Room. These are loaded with audio and video editing software.
In addition to the PCs, we have several laptops available for in-library use. You can check these out from the circulation desk.
In addtion to books and DVDs, the library also provides several video cameras you can check out, as well as a projector that can be used in the library.
