Choosing a Reference Style

Output Styles...aka Reference Styles

EndNote X6 comes pre-loaded with hundreds of styles including APA 6th, Chicago 16th, IEEE , ACS, as well as a number of styles for specific journals.  The Writing Center provides documentation regarding styles and their use.

To choose an Output style in your EndNote library, click on the drop-down arrow on the EndNote toolbar.

If the style you need is not included in the pre-loaded list, you can download the style and add it to EndNote inventory.

Export a Bibliography

From the File menu, select Export.  Choose the reference style and file type, then save.  Open and edit as any other text document.

As an alternative to creating a bibliography, cite while you write.
