Gain instant access to thousands of classic feature films, documentaries, and educational programs.

kanopy is an on-demand streaming video service which provides access to thousands of award-winning documentaries, training films and theatrical releases. Faculty and students can easily share films, create clips or playlists, and embed them into Canvas or other wep pages.
​kanopy provides:
  • access various films by subject or title
  • online access to thousands of films from many of the leading producers, including the Criterion Collection, PBS, Kino Lorber, New Day Films, The Great Courses, California Newsreel, The Video Project, Media Education Foundation, Documentary Education Resources and hundreds more
  • an interface which makes it easy to watch, share, discuss and engage with films across campus
  • easy way for both faculty and students to embed Kanopy in their coursework through Blackboard
  • the opportunity to share films, create clips, or teaching playlists
Kanopy films can be streamed:
  • on or off-campus
  • to PCs (Flash required) or Macs (no other software required)
  • auto bandwidth detection allows videos to be streamed at the most appropriate video quality for uninterrupted streaming.
  • unlimited simultaneous views
This allows Kanopy films to be used:
  • in the classroom
  • embedded into course pages
  • as part of course reserves
  • by students outside of the classroom for required assignments
