The S&T library building is open from 7:30am-midnight (Monday-Friday) and noon-midnight (Saturday-Sunday) for all your information and study needs. The service desk is open from 7:30am-7:30pm (Monday-Thursday), 7:30am-6pm (Friday), and noon-4pm (Saturday-Sunday). For more information, visit the library calendar.

Services and building operations have been modified for fall 2020.

Face Coverings Required

  • Face coverings are required in the library building.
  • Furniture has been moved to allow for social distancing; please allow six feet between individuals.

Building Changes

  • Conference rooms are available for reservation. Gatherings must be limited to ten people per room and face coverings continue to be required while in a conference room.
  • The 3rd floor is closed for construction. This includes all study rooms. Study rooms are not available for reservation.
  • Glass panels have been installed on the 2nd floor's balcony. The panels will help reduce noise on the 2nd floor.
  • The service desk will be relocated during the fall, moving back a few feet to provide additional study and activity space.

Borrowing Materials

  • Materials in the Library are unavailable for browsing. If you would like to borrow an item, please make a request. Requests can be made via the library catalog (click "request" when viewing a title), over the phone, on chat, or through email (library@mst.edu). Library staff will pull the item and hold it at the front desk.
  • Items that are returned to the library are placed in a 72 hour quarantine before they return to circulation.
    • Patrons may see a delay in items disappearing from their library accounts after they are returned.
  • Interlibrary Loan is available, but please expect delays if requesting a print item. Availability of print materials is limited.

Services

  • Librarians are available for consultations and/or classes on a broad range of topics, including how to use the library, literature reviews, research, copyright, data management, open access publishing, and more. To set up an appointment, please email library@mst.edu
  • During the fall, a new checkout system will be implemented, allowing self checkout and new web-based services.
