Student Athlete Resources & Information

This guide directs student athletes to academic resources relevant to their needs.

Catalog Search

If you’re looking for books, ebooks, DVDs, or other physical materials, the library catalog is the best place to start. Missouri S&T's catalog is called Miner Discovery, and lets you search for items on campus as well as across other University of Missouri libraries.

What Is the Catalog?

The library catalog is like an academic version of an online bookstore, but instead of buying materials, you're borrowing them. It includes:

  • Books (print and electronic)

  • Ebooks and streaming media

  • Journals (as publications, not individual articles)

  • Theses and dissertations

  • DVDs and other media held by the library

Use the catalog when you need full books, primary source collections, or overviews of a topic.

How to Use the Catalog

Start here: Search the Miner Discovery Catalog

Search Tips:

  • Use keywords (e.g., sports psychology, engineering ethics, leadership development)

  • Use quotation marks to keep phrases together (e.g., "college athletes")

  • Filter your results by location, material type (book, ebook), at the top of the page

Looking Beyond Our Campus

If our library doesn’t have what you need, you can:

  • Click “Mobius Catalog” from the library's homepage to borrow from other Missouri libraries

  • Use Interlibrary Loan to request materials from libraries across the U.S.
