Library services available to the local Rolla Community.

Community Services

Local Missouri residents have access to the following services:

  • Use of the library's public spaces
  • Ability to borrow materials in our local collections
  • Access to the University Archives (appointment required)
  • Access to the State Historical Society's Office
  • Access to WI-Fi
  • Access to our public computers including access to some of our electronic databases and resources (Daily registration is required)
  • Notary Services
  • Access to our book scanner with the ability to send scanned document via email
  • Access to children's books, entertainment DVDs, leisure reading materials, games, and puzzles

 

Missouri Resident Library Account

The Library offers guest accounts to Missouri residents who wish to use the library's collections. The requirements to obtain a quest account are:

  • A current form of photo identification such as a Drivers License, Passport, or Military Identification.
  • Proof of Missouri residency such as a utility bill or other official mail containing you Missouri address and postmarked within the last 3 months. Persons with a current Military Identification do not have to provide proof of Missouri residency.
  • 18 years of age or older. Persons under 18 must have their parent or guardian sign the application form. 

Please bring the requested documents to the library service desk to be processed. Guest accounts are valid for 1 year. To be eligible for a renewal, accounts must have no outstanding fines or fees. To renew, please bring a current form of identification and proof of Missouri residency to the Library service desk for processing. 

Certain restrictions apply to guests accounts:

  • Guests may not use library's electronic resources which are licensed for use by only students, faculty, and staff of the University.
  • Guest patrons must also register at the service desk each time they wish access to to public use computers.

Recalls: If an item is needed for course reserves or other reason, it may be recalled.  If an item is recalled, the due date will be shortened and a notice will be sent to the patron that currently has this item checked out.  Recalls generate fines of $1.00 if items are returned after the adjusted recall due date.
