Collaboration between University Libraries and Kummer College creates New TIP Space

In a partnership between the University Libraries and Kummer College of Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Economic Development, the Media Room on the 3rd floor of the library is being transformed into a space that will accommodate the new Kummer TIP (Team Innovation Projects) program.

Previously used to store microfiche / film collections, the former Media Room will now house six team rooms dedicated for use by the TIP Program. The TIP Program is overseen by Shou Wong, director of corporate partnerships, a new position created to connect industry partners with students and faculty at Missouri S&T. Kummer Librarian Georgette Nicolosi will actively work with the student groups assigned to the spaces to assist with research needs for their projects.

"This dedicated physical space for students to meet with corporate liaisons and faculty advisors will prove very useful for extended meetings when long-term planning, discussions requiring substantial iteration, or ideation activities are necessary,” said Dr. James Sterling, Dean of Kummer College. “These new team rooms are an exciting new venue for our TIP students."

The microfiche / film and reader / scanner have been relocated next to the stacks on the 3rd floor of the library.
