Scholars' Portal is our new faculty profile platform which replaces the bePress Expert Gallery Suite associated with Scholars' Mine. Scholars' Portal collects, stores and organizes Missouri S&T's research data such as publications, activities, projects, prizes and grants from across campus into one research environment.
Scholars' Portal is based in Pure by ELSEVIER, the world's leading research information management system. Pure is designed to integrate and link all the data that comprise an institution's research ecosystem in order to provide a holistic overview of our faculty's research activity and impact. May data types (e.g. publication data) are automatically harvested from external data sources which will reduce the amount of manual work, and simplify research administration and optimize reporting and compliance.
"Pure is a Research Information Management System (RIMS) or Current Research Information System (CRIS) designed to be simple and turnkey. Deep integration into the Research Intelligence portfolio and external Open Access (OA) databases and Open Data repositories enables actionable analysis across sources for enhanced decision-making and evidence-based execution of research strategy."1
There are several direct benefits to having a Scholars' Portal profile based in Pure:
Profile pages are available to Missouri S&T University administrators, faculty members, staff, and Emeriti professors with and are used as your official profile and are linked to from the campus directory. Anyone with a previous bePress Expert Gallery Suite profile has been migrated to Scholars' Portal. Your profile will be associated with your department and other units such as centers or laboratories and can be recognized with the organizational hierarchy. When you leave the Missouri S&T you profile is removed from the public portal. Students do not have profiles. If you do not have a profile the library can create on for you. Simply complete the Request a Profile Form. Once your profile is created, you will be able to update and edit it at anytime or you can request the library to make changes for you.

Your Personal Overview Tab in Pure is a centralized hub for users to manage their research data, explore institutional content, and engage with their research outputs in a more meaningful way. From the Overview Tab you can access and manage content, including research outputs, projects, and researcher profiles. This overview integrates Pure data with PlumX data, which provides metrics like mentions, usage, captures, social media, and citation data. It also allows users to explore content added by themselves and their institution.
Integration with Pure and PlumX Data:
The overview combines information from Pure, which stores data on researchers, research units, and research outputs, with PlumX data, which provides metrics on the impact and usage of research.
Content Access and Management:
Users can use the overview to access, work with, and add content to Pure.
Search and Filtering:
The overview allows users to search and filter content based on their own contributions and those of their institution.
Content Types:
The overview provides access to various content types in Pure, including research outputs, projects, and researcher profiles.
Accessing Content Without Direct Ownership:
If a user does not directly own content, they can still access it through to "Personal" tab in the Pure interface.
